The DIN No is a mandatory Biz registration requirement which is a unique Identifier for all the Directors of companies.

It is a check on these Directors credibility as with their DIN No we can track these Directors as they are the sole processor-of all the Short/Long term finance in the company.

The DIN Charges will be included in the DSC charges as indicated earlier.

  1. What is the DIN?

The DIN is a unique Identification Number allotted to an individual who is appointed as Director of a company, via an application form DIR-3 . This is as per the section 153 & 154 of the Companies Act, 2013.

  • Who is authorized to issue the DIN?

The Regional Director (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) is authorized to issue the DIN for all the Directors of the companies.

  • What is the modality for the DIN-Amendment if the Director’s personal data has undergone a change or a Single woman Directors who have married since & need their personal particulars to be changed immediately?

The Director is required to download and fill up the e-Form DIR-6 for such amendments/changes and follow the same common process for processing the DIN no.

In case of change in the Applicant’s name, the Gazette notification is a must with form DIR-6. Married women, who are having Id proof with their maiden name, can submit marriage certificate along with application.


The DSC or the Director’s Signature Number  is a Digital representation of the actual signage of the Director.

This protects the Company from frauds or forgery if the Director gets this DSC No.
